Hollywood & Mid-City

The glamour of the world’s entertainment epicenter begins and ends with Hollywood, which by all accounts, has seen the end of its golden era. Hollywood-proper is exactly what you might expect: It’s riddled with tourists, panhandlers and shopping malls and it’s Walk of Fame is dwindling with age. And still, as you crawl along the gridlocked 101 freeway, looking down at Tinsel Town below you, the allure of what once was seems not so unimaginable after all, just so long as you don’t look too closely. Just south of Hollywood in the Fairfax region of Los Angeles, you’ve achieved a safe distance in Mid-City. Here, things are just swell with the steady popularity of The Grove and the LACMA to keep people flocking to this direction.
